Medical Shield AI exists to help that potential become real: through open research, honest evaluation, and funding that stays visible on-chain from the moment it arrives.
Why AI in healthcare matters
A single hospital can generate more imaging, laboratory, and clinical-note data in a week than any team of specialists could review by hand. Applied carefully, machine learning can surface patterns hidden in that data — flagging early signs of disease, prioritizing urgent cases, and giving clinicians a second set of eyes on complex decisions. AI does not replace medical professionals. It extends what they are able to do, and — when built openly — it makes high-quality decision support available beyond the hospitals that can afford to build it in-house.

How we work
Every contribution arrives on a single public Solana wallet that anyone can audit. Allocation decisions are documented and shared openly, and we prioritize work whose methods, datasets, and results can be published for the wider community to build on. Our standard is simple: don't over-promise, don't obscure trade-offs, and never present a research direction as medical advice.
